The Backstory:
The legendary singer, Stevie Wonder, won an Academy Award for best original song for his hit, “I Just Called To Say I Love You,” in 1985.
"I cannot, I cannot believe it. I really cannot believe it," he said during his acceptance speech.
In addition to the Oscar, Stevie Wonder was able to win 25 Grammys and sell over 100 million records worldwide in his groundbreaking career.
Stevie Wonder achieved his first major success as an eleven-year-old in a duet with the head of the legendary "Motown" label, before he was able to make a name for himself in the soul scene a few years later. “In the neighborhood I was the blind boy making noise on the old piano. At Motown I became a musician,” says Wonder, looking back on the beginnings of his career.
His work continues to have an impact on today's musical landscape and certainly beyond.
